Get to Know the Neighborhood

The area around WestGate is not your average neighborhood. Nestled in the heart of downtown Tuscaloosa, our luxurious condominium is surrounded by some of the most iconic spots in the city. You also won’t have to deal with nosey neighbors – just 100,000 fellow fans looking for good friends, good food, and good football. The best part? All of that can be found within walking distance of your WestGate condo.

If you’re looking to give your neighborhood an upgrade, here’s what the area around WestGate has to offer:

The Stadium – 0.1 miles

The best neighbor award goes to the legendary stadium, a towering legacy that casts its shadow right over your luxurious WestGate condo. We’re just steps from the stadium’s west side, putting you right in the heart of the gameday huddle – and a short two-minute stroll to the Walk of Champions. It’s true what we say – any closer and you’d need a ticket!

The Strip – 0.1 miles

Beginning just 400 feet from your WestGate condo, The Strip is Tuscaloosa’s landmark section of bars, restaurants, and shops. You can grab an original Yellowhammer cocktail at Gallettes, stock up on gameday gear at Alabama Express, and grab an order of famed BBQ Nachos from Big Bad Wolves. This is also your closest spot for conveniences like Publix, UPS, and CVS Pharmacy.

The Quad – 0.5 miles

The Quad is the heart of the university and the epicenter of gameday activities. As early as Thursday morning on gameday weekends, the lush green lawn transforms into a sea of tents as thousands of fans converge to celebrate all things football. It’s also where the band does The Elephant Stomp, an outdoor pep rally that leads fans into the stadium at game time.

Rama Jama’s – 0.3 miles

Also nestled in the shadow of the stadium, Rama Jama’s is known for its unbeatable burgers and thick, creamy milkshakes. A gameday favorite for more than 20 years, fans and locals alike flock to this unassuming diner to view its walls of unique Alabama memorabilia, chow down on hearty favorites like the National Championship BLT (it has 18 pieces of bacon), and snag a picture with owner and Saban doppelganger Gary Lewis.

Getting Around T-Town

Thanks to its location in the heart of the city, many of the best places in Tuscaloosa are within walking distance of your WestGate condo. Plenty of sidewalks and an easy grid system make the city pedestrian-friendly and traveling by car on gameday is not advisable.
