Whether you just won the game, closed a big deal, have a special celebration, or just love a good steak, you won’t regret sinking your teeth into some of Tuscaloosa’s best steak hotspots.

Dillard’s Chophouse
2330 4th Street Tuscaloosa, AL 35401
(205) 614-8782
This fine dining steakhouse was voted the “Best Steakhouse in Alabama to Take Your Dad for Father’s Day” (and nobody knows a good steak like dad.) Dillard’s specializes in traditional American steaks cut from Braveheart Black Angus Beef, and they offer every cut imaginable, including Filet Mignon, New York Strips, Ribeye, Porterhouses and more. Each steak is carefully cooked to order, and you can even add amazing embellishments like caramelized onions, bearnaise sauce, mushroom demi-glace, and bleu cheese. Dillard’s is only open for dinner (except for Sunday brunch) and reservations are requested.

Nick’s in the Sticks
4018 Culver Road Tuscaloosa, AL 35401
(205) 758-9316
Don’t let its dive-bar appearance deceive you – Nick’s in the Sticks is the place to go for premium steaks at a really great price. Their bacon-wrapped filet is the most popular item on the menu, but you can also order a filet (sans bacon), ribeye, or t-bone steak that are all grilled to order. Don’t forget to try The Nicodemus – their signature cocktail (and a true local legend) is a super-secret concoction that’s cherry red and notoriously served in a styrofoam cup. Oh, and add your own signed dollar to the collection on the ceiling.

River
1650 Jack Warner Pkwy Unit 1005 Tuscaloosa, AL 35401
(205) 632-3801
This lovely riverside bistro offers views that are almost as good as the food. Guests can enjoy tender steaks in a stylish waterfront setting, with options like their juicy filet served with potatoes Lyonnaise, mixed mushrooms and cabernet gravy. You can even order their braised house trim on a cheesy woodfire flat that’s topped with sauteed veggies and white cheddar. Wash it all down with a selection from their large wine list or handcrafted cocktails.

FIVE Tuscaloosa
2324 6th street Tuscaloosa, AL 35401
(205) 345-6089
FIVE is a cool vintage tavern with a unique take on dining: they offer five dinners, five wines, and five cocktails each day to make your selection five times easier. Their steak dinner is a 12 oz. Aged Ribeye that is perfectly seasoned and seared to your taste, then served with a heaping pile of fresh, hot french fries. If you stop by for weekend brunch, you can order a smaller 6 oz. cut served with country-style diced potatoes and assorted fruit. Because there’s no bad time for a great steak.
Once you’ve satisfied your steak craving, make the short drive (or walk) back to WestGate to relax and digest your day in luxurious comfort. Or never leave your condo at all – with private Wolf gas grills on every balcony, you can work on your own steak skills while enjoying your home-away-from-home.
